where a large number of LED lamp beads die after using the LED display screen
for about a year. So what is the cause of the necrosis of the lamp beads?
There are many reasons for the necrosis of LED lamp beads,
mainly including the following points:
1. Abnormal power supply:
Unstable power supply or improper connection may cause the
LED lamp beads to withstand excessive voltage or current, thereby damaging
them. For example, if an LED lamp bead with a nominal 3V is used with an
unmatched power supply, even if the voltage is not high, the current is too
large and the lamp bead may burn out.
2. Lamp bead quality problem:
The welding quality of the LED display screen directly
affects the service life of the lamp bead. During the process of electric
soldering iron welding, heating platform welding or reflow soldering, if the
temperature is improperly controlled or the grounding is poor, the LED lamp
bead may be damaged.
3. Storage and use environment:
The storage conditions of LED lamp beads have an important
impact on their performance. If the storage environment is humid, the silicone
packaging material of the lamp beads will absorb moisture, which may cause
deformation of the internal gold/silver wires, chips, and brackets during
high-temperature welding, resulting in dead lamps. In addition, the harsh
conditions of the display screen such as high temperature, high humidity, high
acid/alkali/salt, etc. will also accelerate the aging of the lamp beads.
4. Static electricity problem:
Static electricity can cause LED function failure. During the
production, storage and assembly process, if appropriate static electricity
protection measures are not taken, such as the operator not wearing anti-static
wristbands and gloves, the equipment is not grounded, etc., it may cause damage
to the LED lamp beads.
5. Improper installation leads to:
Violent installation. During the installation process, if
violent means are used, such as plugging and unplugging the connection wires
with excessive force, directly hitting the LED display frame to fix the
position, etc., the LED lamp beads and their supporting structures may be
impacted, causing physical damage or internal connection breakage. Extrusion
deformation. When the LED display screen is installed, if it is squeezed by
external force, such as improper stacking of the box body, the screen body is pressed
by heavy objects, etc., it may cause the lamp bead array to deform, thereby
affecting its electrical and optical properties, and even directly damaging the
lamp beads. If the fixing device is loose or the installation position is
unstable after the LED display is installed, the LED display may shift due to
vibration or wind pressure during long-term use, causing the connection between
the lamp beads and the circuit board to loosen or break.
